Task: Create an app about anything but it must include some form of social interaction.
The Keep Seed app was developed as part of a project to design an iOS app with a social component while adhering to Apple’s design principles and functionalities. The app allows plant enthusiasts to document their plants' growth through photos, measurements, and key milestones, creating a personal timeline of progress.
The social aspect was carefully considered—rather than traditional comments, users can follow other plant parents and engage through simple emoji reactions, fostering a positive and pressure-free community. The design process focused on balancing functionality with aesthetics, using a nature-inspired color palette and an intuitive layout to keep plant tracking both engaging and accessible.
A key challenge was organizing detailed plant data in a way that remained user-friendly, which was solved by implementing structured yet visually appealing profiles that highlight key growth factors while maintaining a warm, personal feel. The final design seamlessly integrates iOS features such as smooth navigation, interactive galleries, and personalized profiles, offering an inviting space where users can celebrate their plant journeys without the distractions of conventional social media.
